Weaver Training
Fostering a revival of traditional skills while contributing to a greener future.

Empowers artisans to transition from power-loom to handloom production
Through comprehensive training, mentorship, and access to resources, we equip weavers with the expertise needed to create exquisite handloom textiles that are not only beautiful but also environmentally responsible. By championing handloom weaving, we support local craftsmanship, preserve cultural heritage, and promote a more sustainable and equitable textile industry.
Embroidery Training
Fosters economic independence and celebrates Odisha’s unique embroidery heritage
Honing their skills helps artisans bolster their self-esteem and social standing.
We provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and market access, enabling these women to transform their craft into a sustainable source of income.
Recognising the intricate artistry and cultural significance of traditional embroidery techniques contributes to the preservation of cultural identity and the socio-economic upliftment of indigenous women.

In-house Stitching Unit
Streamlines production process and enhances our responsiveness to market demands

By bringing stitching capabilities in-house, we gain greater control over quality, lead times, and production flexibility.
This enables us to efficiently manage custom orders and cater to the specific design requirements of our corporate clients, fostering stronger relationships and positioning MDF as a go-to supplier of Juco bags. This enhanced efficiency not only benefits our operations but also directly translates into improved service for our customers, reinforcing our commitment to delivering high-quality, personalised products in a timely manner.
Hand-Spinning Training
Revitalises a traditional craft, fosters skill development, and creates a sustainable livelihood
Women gather to spin yarn, connect with one another, and contribute to the local economy.
In September 2023, we successfully concluded a three-month hand-spinning training program, equipping 26 weavers with the valuable skill of using a cotton spinning wheel. This initiative not only enhanced their craftsmanship but also opened doors to new income-generating opportunities. Today, these skilled artisans are paying it forward, sharing their knowledge and expertise by training other interested women in the community. The ripple effect of this training is evident in the establishment of multiple hand-spinning units within the region.

Natural Dyeing Unit
Extracts rich and captivating colours from plant sources like roots, leaves, and flowers

These dyes are biodegradable, non-toxic, and gentle on both the environment and the artisans who work with them.
Our Natural Dyeing Unit is a vibrant testament to our commitment to sustainable and eco-conscious practices.
These natural dyes not only offer a unique and unmatched palette but also align with our vision of a greener future. By choosing natural dyes, we create textiles that are not only beautiful but also kind to the planet.
Indigo Planting and Processing
This hands-on approach allows us to ensure the quality and sustainability of our dyes
Our journey with indigo begins in our own backyards, where we carefully nurture these vibrant plants.
We harvest the leaves at their peak, then embark on the age-old process of transforming them into the deep, mesmerizing blue dye that has captivated cultures for centuries.
By controlling the entire process, from seed to finished product, we eliminate the use of harmful chemicals and reduce our environmental footprint. The result is a stunning array of naturally dyed textiles, each piece imbued with the essence of the earth and the dedication of our artisans.

Cotton Farming
Empowers artisans to take ownership of the entire production process, fostering a deeper connection to their craft and environment.

This grassroots approach minimises transportation and promotes a truly localised production model.
Mauna Dhwani Foundation, hand-in-hand with our dedicated weavers, is embarking on a groundbreaking initiative: cultivating cotton right in the backyards of our artisans’ homes. From seed to fabric, this step towards self-sufficiency aims to reduce our carbon footprint significantly.
By nurturing cotton plants alongside their traditional crops, our weavers are not only diversifying their income but also contributing to a more sustainable and eco-conscious textile industry. As the cotton bolls ripen under the warm Odisha sun, they represent more than just a raw material. They symbolise our commitment to environmental stewardship, community empowerment, and a future where fashion and sustainability walk hand-in-hand.
