Neivedya – An offering of food, nutrition and the possibility

For the 250 women and children in the tribal villages of Chuliaposi, Atanati and Sunapal a nutritious mid-day meal may be their only shot at possibility…the possibility of reclaiming their lives.

Neivedya – the community kitchen run by the Mauna Dhwani Foundation with the support of Swamy (R Swaminathan) and Veni Venkatesh in the north-eastern tribal village of Chuliaposi, Odisha was launched in 2021. The ravages of the pandemic, the return of migrant labourers and the absence of any livelihood whatsoever took a toll on the most vulnerable segment of the community– the children, the women and the elderly. Currently, 100% of the women and children are classified in the category of severe undernutrition, which includes wasting and stunting.

In the next three years, we are determined to take forceful steps to reverse the damage through Neivedya. Through our centralized kitchen at Chuliaposi, every day nutritious cooked food is transported to the three villages located within a 15 km range. The menu is carefully planned with a nutritionist to ensure that the deficiencies are addressed.

A mid-day meal costs 38 INR. Feeding 250 people cost 9500 INR a day. Feel free to choose a day/days from the 365 days as your day/s of offering and if possible do it on the same day for the next 3 years to truly make a difference.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. Thank you for your offering of love and hope.
